It is the start of the final term this year in Hedgehogs and Rabbits, and we are looking forward to our new Topic "Raging Rivers". This summer, we'll learn about riverbank habitats, read Marc Martin's beautiful picture book "A River," and try our hand at writing algorithms and making maps. The water theme will be carried on in class, where we will have our very own "Seaside" role play area!

This half term has been short but action-packed! We have really enjoyed learning about Towns and Villages in Hedgehogs and Rabbits, building different settlements, exploring maps, playing in our class “Airport” and taking a trip to Matlock to take part in the Y1 and 2 Sports event.  A special “thank you” to Kyle’s mummy and her colleague who came and shared with us their fantastic experiences as real life cabin crew! Wishing everybody a super half term break - we hope you enjoy some more Jubilee celebrations!

We are very excited to be starting a new Topic this term in Hedgehogs and Rabbits. “Town Mouse, Country Mouse” is all about geography, and we will explore globes, maps and atlases as we learn to name and locate different places, spot landmarks and compare the features of a village like Eyam with a town like Buxton. What a busy and productive term we have had in Hedgehogs and Rabbits! From planting seeds and watching birds to playing in our “Building Site”, celebrating Shrove Tuesday and Easter to rounding off our “Amazing Artists” topic with a trip to a real life Museum and Art Gallery, we have worked hard, had fun and learned lots both indoors and out.
