Medicines in School
Arrangements for Medicines in School
Children need to be at home if they are poorly, but there are the occasions where they may have a course of antibiotics and be climbing the walls to come back to school. In these cases our staff have kindly agreed to administer medication IF it is prescribed by a doctor and has clearly labelled names, dosage and instructions on the medication.
You will need to complete a medication form and drop the medicine in at the office.
If there are any children with long term medical needs such as painkillers, then they will also be able to have medicine administered but, again, only if prescribed and labelled by a doctor. This includes paracetamol.
These arrangements are in line with the DCFS government guidance.
No other medicines will be given to children in school.
